Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ColorCodes.io (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and tools (the “Service”).
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name, and a securely hashed password. Authentication and account storage are handled by our backend provider, Supabase.
- Content you create. Colors and palettes you save are stored and associated with your account.
- Usage and device data. Like most websites, we and our providers automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and interactions, using cookies and similar technologies.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and your saved content.
- To create and secure your account and send account-related emails (for example, email confirmation).
- To understand how the Service is used through aggregate analytics.
- To display advertising that helps keep the Service free.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality (such as keeping you signed in), analytics, and advertising. Advertising on this site is provided by Mediavine. Mediavine and its advertising partners may use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure personalized ads.
For visitors in the EU, UK, and certain U.S. states (such as California), consent for advertising and analytics cookies is managed through Mediavine’s built-in Consent Management Platform (CMP), which appears when required and lets you set your preferences. For full details on the cookies we use and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with:
- Service providers who operate the Service on our behalf, including Supabase (accounts and database), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and Mediavine (advertising).
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Note that certain advertising practices (such as the use of advertising cookies) may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can exercise choices about this through the CMP described above.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the “sale/sharing” of your data. You can:
- Update or delete saved colors and palettes from your account.
- Adjust advertising and analytics preferences through the Mediavine CMP.
- Request account deletion or exercise other privacy rights by contacting us at support@colorcodes.io.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Data retention
We retain account information and saved content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize the associated personal information, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and secure password hashing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International users
We operate the Service from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes may be highlighted within the Service.
